Dehradun: Incidents of on-line fraud have been on the rise for the previous few years. In a single such incident, a person from Uttarakhand’s capital metropolis Dehradun was duped of Rs 1.50 lakh by cyber fraudsters. The accused tricked the person on the pretext of fixing a problem associated to his FASTag recharge.
A criticism was lodged within the matter on Saturday night. The sufferer has been recognized as Narendra Singh. He skilled an issue whereas recharging FASTag. Singh referred to as on the client care quantity. The one who acquired the decision requested the complainant to obtain a device-sharing app, reported The Times of India.

After gaining access to the sufferer’s cellphone, the accused siphoned off Rs 1.50 lakh from Singh’s account. “An unidentified particular person, who acquired the decision on buyer care quantity, whereas assuring Singh of fixing his challenge, satisfied him to obtain a device-sharing app via which the accused transferred Rs 1.50 lakh to his checking account,” reported TOI quoting Inspector Rajesh Sah as saying.

Upon realising that he was being duped, Singh approached the police. The criticism was registered on the Raipur police station. On the premise of Singh’s criticism, a case was registered in opposition to the unidentified particular person. An in depth investigation has been lodged into the matter.

In the meantime, in one other incident of on-line fraud, a 56-year-old lady was duped of Rs 4.83 lakh by a cyber fraudster in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. The cyber criminal tricked her when she was buying a laptop computer on-line. A criticism was lodged by the girl.
