A person was duped of Rs 15.3 lakh by cyber fraudsters in Karnataka’s Mangaluru. The fraud befell between March 4 and eight. The person was tricked by the fraudsters on the pretext of offering a part-time job.
Cyber fraudsters directed the sufferer to finish duties to double his cash. As per the report, initially, the person was requested to speculate Rs 150 and Rs 2,000. After investing the quantity instructed by the cyber crooks, the sufferer received Rs 2,800 in return.
After gaining his belief, the fraudsters requested the person to click on on a hyperlink, create an account in his title and ship cash. The sufferer reportedly misplaced Rs 15.3 lakh from his financial institution accounts in a number of transactions between March 4 and eight.
Upon realising that he was being duped, the sufferer approached the police. A grievance was registered on this regard on the CEN police station. The police launched an in depth investigation into the matter. Nonetheless, no arrests have been made up to now.
Final month, an IT skilled was duped of Rs 8.25 lakh by cyber fraudsters. The sufferer is a resident of Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad space. The cyber crooks tricked the IT skilled by providing her a job to offer on-line critiques in return for a good-looking earnings. A grievance was registered within the matter on the Wakad Police Station.
